when I import a avi into after effects cs3 there is only audio. Where is the video track? I have used xilisoft to rip a dvd. Any help?

If you are ripping files from a dvd, then you are importing vob files which AE cannot use. You will need to convert them to avi files first as AE likes them much better.

And more specifically, an AVI file using encoding which AE can work with. What are the output options that your convertor gives?

It's the teddybear codec. No wait it's doesn't say. Just avi.

There should be more options under AVI. AVI is the generic term for a 'wrapper' - it's what is used to encode the video that matters.

No other options just a bunch of teddyBears. There is only avi! Can I use another OUT put mode.

why are there so many teddybears on this software. So starnger and they are dancing or something.

I have tried mp4 output and avi and it's the same still out.

You could always convert the resulting avi file to dv-avi using something like Adobe Media Encoder, i don't actually use any other converters so i am a bit low on alternatives. i've heard Super (c) is meant to be good.
