Access to HDV Settings button within Capture Window/Capture Settings

Aloha...new to this forum...
live in Hawaii and edit underwater video...
I capture footage in 2 formats, both DV & HDV. I seldom use DV anymore unless my HDV camera is needing repair. I have 2 issues, both relating to capture with my Sony HCR-HD7.
1) When capturing from the HC7 in HDV format, the capture settings button within the capture window is not available (greyed out). Why???
2) The Device Listing within device control pull down menu does not list any HDV cameras. Review of the Adobe website doesn't provide any listing either. Which selection is best for use with my HC7???
