Captured clips speeding up and slowing down

Capturing a ton of HD tapes into many seperate projects in premier. We are finding that some random clips now wont play at their regular speed and the video and audio are off, Right before the clip plays the screen blips Red. Is this a problem in our capturing or is this a random act of terrorism?
