Thread: Capturing problem from Panasonic NV GS500

I've been using the Panasonic camera with a .45 wide converter lens. I've been shooting in widescreen. When I try capturing in Premier Pro (both in widescreen and standard it appears to be capturing a pronounced fish-eye effect with loads of vignetting round the edges. However in the camera's playback screen this isn't visible. I've also played the camera back straight through the TV and again this is not visible.
Can anyone shen any light in this problem?

It might be that the lcd and viewfinder don't show the entire frame so part of it might be cut off and lead you to believe it looks alright wjhen viewed on the camcorder. It's the same on a tv but Premiere Pro shows the entire frame and that's why you see the vignetting. I've used Panny's aswell and they record more at the edges of the frame than what you see while out on a shoot and looking at either the lcd or viewfinder. I've come back from shoots with street lights, signposts, trees and everything in between recorded at the edge of the frame, even though I made sure I had tightened the shot at recording time.
