Default Audio fine. no video..hmm

Well,
Here are the facts:
Using Premiere Pro CS3
Converting files (so I can import them into CS3) using Virtual Dub
This particular file I converted from vob (from DVD player) to avi on my desktop
It plays fine in Window media player
It plays fine in Adobe Bridge
The audio sounds fine in Premiere but no video

While in the project tab of Premiere I looked at the properties of this file and here's what it states:
File Path: C:\Documents and Settings\Kurt Yaeger\Desktop\gggggggg.avi
Type: AVI Movie
File Size: 17.3 GB
Image Size: 720 x 480
Pixel Depth: 720
Frame Rate: 29.97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
Total Duration: 00;07;26;02
Average Data Rate: 39.7 MB / second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 0.9

AVI File details:
Contains 1 video track(s) and 1 audio track(s).
Interleave: 1 : 1.00

In the same window below the Data Rate Analysis the second graph, Sample Size, is completely filled with red bars. This is unlike my other files which has a variation of blue and red bars...

Not sure what I'm doing wrong... It imported fine...
I'm really quite green on understanding converting files, which converters are the best to use in conjunction with CS3, and all of it really, so a broke-down explanation will be necessary..

Thanks

Default

So I just tried to convert the video only...
It plays in window media player but guess what?
I get the same error message "unsupported audio rate in file"
How can that be when there is no associated audio? I'm sure something is amiss but I'll be damned if I can find it on the net.

Thanks
