...anyone have any idea what this file is used for?

I'm not sure you can officially quote me because I've never used them but I think those files are how you export your timeline markers into Adobe Encore so that they can automatically be picked up as chapter points.

hmm ok thanks...so if i was to import into encore, I would have to import the .xmp file aswell?
