need to export for tv

hi guys!

i'm extremely new to this video production stuff..and if my question is too basics, please forgive me, but it's really pissing me off.

i've video that i need to sell to a tv.
they even showed the concern about the video
but don't know it's format or size to present them.

my video is in pal - dv- 350X240 format.
i'm in pakistan, where pal is the standard

any guide(+ve, -ve comment) would be great help.

it has to broadcast on tv, so what should be the format, size etc
should it be on dvd?

The dimensions for PAL standard defintion tv are 720 x 576 so yours is less than half that. What type of camera did you shoot it with? Is this a piece of 'amatuer' footage you recorded yourself while out and about one day or did the tv station get you to record it specifically for them? No it shouldn't be on dvd, they need the original tape? that the raw material was recorded on.

No, i didn't shoot it.
Just got few videos, that need to be merged into a single 30 min program.
videos are in dv/mpeg2 format, that means digital, so no tape available in this case.

A 30 minute programme for broadcasting? And you want to use mpeg2? Also the dimesions of your video are too small at 350X240 format. Did the tv station not tell you they need video at least 720 x 576? What was the video shot with a webcam or did you take it off the internet?

ok, that's not the problem. i can arrange for 720 x 576

i was confused about final delivery format and the physical medium to store the final product.

thanks for helping me with the size stuff.
Can you please explain what physical medium should i use? to present it for review ?
i hope that you know that i even have no idea about the basics.
i'm not from the tv background or don't know anyone.
just had an idea, that i want to sell, to earn something for my studies.

please forgive my ignorance.

The broadcasters are probably going to want it in tape format but get in contact with them and ask them how. They might let you send it via DVD if you can encode the DVD at a good enough quality for them. Whenever I've done stuff for TV they've always wanted it on a tape so they can capture it for themselves.
