No sound in Export to Tape

When I export my 45 minute timeline to tape I get perfect video but absolutely no audio.
Am using 2.8 gig machine with 1 gig ram Premiere Pro and a fire wire card.. NO capture card..
Have gone down to the most basic set up using a fire wire from the computer to my Sony Walkman. no sound is recorded. Have had headphones on the walkman and no sound comes into the machine.

Any Ideas??
