Hi,
Introducing myself:
I'm a student of Media College Amsterdam in the Netherlands and I'm learning how to work in Adobe After Effects 7.
I'm following a tutorial from video CoPilot, but at one of the steps of the tutorial I have to select both keyframes > right click > Keyframe Assistant > Exponential Scale
The problem is, I can't find exponential scale:
I also tried:
Animation > Keyframe Assistants > ... (No exponential scale too)
Can please somebody help me?

Are you using Standard or Professional, Andrew uses Pro, so that might be why you do not see it.

I don't know where can I see that, I think standard? So if it is standard, how can I find the exponential scale?

Buy the professional upgrade, it will say what version it is on the box or splash screen.
Just curious, how do you "not" know if its standard or professional, you do have legit software, right?

I got the software from school, not the software but just a licence key.. And my study just started last week, hehe. This is my first time in after effects.. =)

hi,
reading your post I recognized that I have the same problem.
I think you did the Earth Zoom Tutorial, didn't you?
So, Andrew says it's only available in the Pro version of AE.
I'm using the standard version of AE 7.0, that's why I can't find the exponential scale function as well.
But is there any other possibility of using exponential scale, typing in a certain expression or sth?
Andrew also uses expressions he typed in himself (a.e. wiggle).
So can you also type an expression for exponential scale?
hopefully somebody knows it!
thx, nachtfalter (in english: moth )

This keyframe effect only comes with AE CS3 Pro, but you can write the expression as Nachfalter says...google for the expression and you should get loads of returns.

or just simulate an exponential curve by creating manual keyframes - which is all that menu option does for you anyway. You could simulate the curve with only a few keyframes I reckon.
