Default Scene detection

Hope this is the correct forum!
Am using Premier Elements 4 - cannot find Scene Detection enywhere. Not in the Capture Workspace or in Scratch Disks. I need to cancel it as I need to download some tapes as single files. Any help or advice will be very much appreciated.
Best wishes to everyone.

What are you capturing from? There is Scene Detection by Time Code or by Content in version 4. However you can only Scene Detect by Content for HDV, not by Time Code. For HDV capture people are using HDVSplit to scene detect.

If you are capturing from a digital converter or other device you can only scene detect by content.

Scene Detect by Time Code is located in the Capture Workspace, Click on the >> at the top right by the X. Scene Detect by Content is located in the same place as well as on a right click menu for each video clip or from the main menu Clip/Scene Detect.
