Default Import video but oly get audio

I have both premiere pro and elements and I am getting the same problem in both. When I import video I only get the audio with no video. I recently formated my drive and reloaded. These AVi video files were working on my system with no problems so I know that they can work with premiere. Am I missing a codec or something?

Was the video captured by Premiere Elements over Firewire from a MiniDV camcorder?
If not you will most likely need to convert the file to DV-AVI (not the same as other avi codecs).

You can probably convert the file to DV-AVI using Windows Movie Maker, a free tutorial is available here *** muvipix.com Products ***

Premiere Elements really has a hard time with Divx, convert the file to DV-AVI (Microsoft AVI) and it will be fine.
