Hello eveyone,
I have this 85mins dvd that consist of 3 vob files;
vts_01_1.vob (1gb, approx 30mins)
vts_01_2.vob (1gb, approx 30mins)
vts_01_3.vob (0.86gb, approx 25mins)
When I play this dvd anywhere (pc or home theater), everything is fine.
When I drop the files in PE4, the second file appears at around 10mins only, while the first & third are ok at their respective 30 & 25mins....
Really stuck

Convert the VOB files to DV-AVI using mpegstreamclip (free utility).
Sometimes Premiere Elements has problems converting the files on its own.

Hi,
any quality loss to be expected by conversion?

There is always loss when converting from MPEG (which VOB actually is). Premiere or Premiere Elements will convert the file anyway so it won't hurt using another program to do it first. There shouldn't be much loss, might not even notice.
The other option is to work with an mpeg editor which Premiere Elements is not.

We have a winner!
Tks for your straight to the point answers, I have re-encoded in .mpeg the whole 3 vob files, & it cames out as a lone 2.8gb Mpeg file, that transfered nicely into timeframe project, & it showed the right 85mins duration...COOL !
Tks again, bro
