Default Audio problem dragging to timeline Prem Pro

Could anyone help me with something I am obviously being daft about.

In Premier Pro

All of a sudden when dragging my clips to the timeline, the audio appears on Audio track 4 instead of its normal position on Audio tack 1. I cannot seem to move it or stop this happening.

Anybody tell me what have I done to cause this and how to correct it?

Thanks

Stuart

No your not daft.

Premiere will only add high quality stereo audio to the top layers. Mono always goes to the bottom maybe low bitrate stereo too. (never bothered to find out)

Default Audio track query

Many thanks for that, I think it was a mono lepel mic that was used.
If I need to add music to this sequence should it go on Audio track 5 or does it not make any difference if it goes on tracks 1 ,2 or 3?

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Cheers
Stuart

All the tracks can be adjusted individually, so the order really doesn't matter too much. I would use the top tracks first to save screen space and having to scroll up an down to find the track you want.
