I was hoping some of you could help me find open source video editing and special effects software. I've got access to really old versions of Premiere and After Effects but I was thinking that there has to be something just as good and free.

Any video gurus know what's good and what's not?

Try Zweistein or maybe it's spelled Zwei Stein, try both on Google to see if it throws up anything. It's claimed to be a video editor and special effects piece of software, it looks odd and may take a while to get used to but it is free...
