Default Viewing video on computer monitor is jerky.

I can get output to my DV Walkman and my tv monitor but the picture on the timeline monitor is very jerky.
If I go into Project Setting General, Playback Settings output and uncheck the "Playback on DV Camcorder" box I can get a useable picture in the time line monitor. How can I get a picture to all three, the walkman, the tv monitor and the timeline monitor?
I am not using a Capture Card.
