Thumbs down Can't get high quality playback WORKING

I have finish a video with the resolution of the original clips at 1024 x 768. When i render it as an AVI file, with no compression on audio and video, the clip doesnt play. When i compress it with various compressors like the Cinepak Codec and Xvid etc. and set the final resolution at 1024 x 768 the resolution becomes half that and the quality isn't as good as all the original clips. But at least it plays properly.

How is it possible to make my video the full quality it actually is. Am i doing something wrong? Some reason i have a feeling i am :P

Thanks.

What project preset did you use? And what options did you choose for your final export?

Interesting but not what I asked for. The project preset used is completely independant of your final output settings.
