Chapman Photography is an unknown quantity at this point

Is it a still image? If it is you can use the pan and crop tool.

Do you mean hand drawn like it's a cartoon?

Hi
I saw an animation like that in a hiphop video where by brooklyn bridge was like creating itself in the background. It should not be necessarily a cartoon any type of image can be of use in guiding me to get the technique. Thanks

I'm still not quite convinced I understand exactly what you want.

You want a background of a cityscape that appears to 'paint' itself on? Or do you just want the individual building to paint on.

I think After Effects could do this. You could defined an animated matt that is drawn on in real time sort of so that the image appears as though painted on with brush strokes.

The same technique that I;ve used to animate a signature being drawn on the screen.

Are you a school teacher? lol I haven't been addressed purely by my last (of family) name since I was at school!

I learnt this technique from one of the 'Meyer' books and haven;t done it for quite some time. I would have to look up which book for you and/or find an interesting reference online for some sort of tutorial discussing it.

I'll need to confirm when I have more time but this link looks like it should show you the type of effects needed.
