Ever since I started doing some green screen taping, my videos have a "washed out" look to them. If I try to cut back on the amount of light then the green screen effect starts to suffer.

The colors have the feeling of being over exposed, like they have too much white in them. Is there an easy way, filter or technique, to correct for this?

I'm sure you can apply effect filters like a combination of brightness, contrast, gamma etc and get something.

However, your problem is better solved at it's source. It sounds like you are not lighting your green screen independently of your 'talent' in front of it.

First light your green (or blue) screen. Once done turn those lights off and then light your talent in front of it. Once thats done then put all lights back on and start shooting.

Is the problem with the background/greenscreen or the talent in the foreground? Or is the problem with both of them? For lighting the background, if you can lay your hands on a light meter (yes, I know it might seem a bit extreme) but it might help you get even light levels on the greenscreen. You can check as many as 9 points on the greenscreen, 3 along the top, 3 along the centre and 3 along the bottom. Next point, is the washed out effect in the video after you've recorded it or when you replace the greenscreen with another video track in your editing/compositing program?
