It is often said that one or two dropped frames per tape is not unusual.

PC speed / tasks running is definitely important.

My old old xp1700 was a pain - often needed a reset to capture well, my old xp3000 was better but i needed to be care ful to not too much when capturing, my newish core duo is nver a problem - I can even edit and capture.
