Default Crop a video?

I'm trying to crop a shot in my video; that is, I want to select an area in my video and discart the rest, here's what I want to do:

I want to go from this...


To this.


How can i do this?

use the crop effect or crop tool my friend (not too sure if thats in final cut but its in premire)

Of course if ytou crop then the video clip will no longer fit your frame and you'll have a black broder. If this is an issue then you might want to play with the position and zoom settings instead.

Import your video into After Effects, use the transitions, scale and transitions position controls to crop your vision and reposition to where you wish. You can even set in and out points at the exact time within your video if it is in the middle and not the complete file that you are cropping.

Try VidCrop.

I just did a zoom cropping with funny dog video & it looked OK to me.
