Default problem creating a transition

what am i doing wrong?

There's not enough footage on the "other" side of the transition. You need to start and/or finish the transition further away from the end and/or beginning of your clip(s).

Remember, the transition works by overlapping video. If there's nothing to overlap, there's no transition. And I see that you are at the very end and very beginning of each of those clips.

Don't edit the way you're doing it, but i think you can just overlap your clips a bit more. I would just move the out point of the fist clip and the in point of the second clip in.

Grab the end of clip a. Move the out point along so that it's at the red mark. Grab the start of clip b. Move the in point aling so it's at the red mark. Now shift clip b along the time line to the left.
