Hi there, im editing in premiere 2.0 and need to make a film look really old like an old silent movie

any ideas or free plugins/effects?

I use Magic Bullet to make footage look old, it's quite realistic but the software is very expensive and unless you will get other uses from it then it may not be worth buying.
Have a look for yourself...
Magic Bullet Suite v2.1

Export out to windows movie maker (If you have xp its on your pc) add the old film effect then you can do with it what you will in premier after.
