Default Premiere Elements/DVD files

Hi --

I'm just starting to use Premiere Elements 3.0, and trying to work with video I've imported from a DVD to my hard drive. The file structure looks like this:

VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB

When I add the VTS files to the project, VTS_01_1.VOB is listed under Type as Video, and the rest are listed under Type as Movies.

There doesn't seem to be any audio on VTS_01_1.VOB (although there was on the source video), but the rest appear to play just fine.

Any ideas what's going on here?

Thanks,
Loren

Hi Loren,
I have exactly the same problem! I'm on Vista and have v3.02 - but unfortunately it appears that no one can help. I posted the same question on the Adobe site and had no success...
FWIW, I downloaded a trial copy of Pinnacle Studio 10 and it works great - no problems with sound. however, I like the features of Premier Elements...

Lets see if anyone can help.
Ratty

Hey, Ratty --

You can see my posting of the query here:

Premiere Elements/dvd Files - Wrigley Video Productions Forum

I haven't implemented Ann's solution yet, so I can't say that it solves my particular problem (or yours, for that matter) or not.
