This is really frustrating me as im sure it can easily be achieved.
I'm using Premiere 6.0. I have a clip that I want to gradually slow down from about 1000% to normal (100%). I wouldve though key frames would have something to do with it but I cant figure it out. If there is no official way of doing it is there a video effect or plugin i can download to achieve it. If so what are some good websites for premiere plugins etc.

Its quite a pain to ramp the speed of your footage in Premier, you need to use the razor to cut your footage up and then slow each clip down in increasing increments - a real pain, youll have to experiment to get it looking right.

Alternatively tou can get the Reelsmart "Twixtor" plugin which allows you to do real ramps but its fiddly to use and expensive.

I think After Affects also allows U to ramp the speed (youd hope so!) but I aint sure.

Thanks ill have a fiddle and see what i come up with. Im surprised its not a feature of the program, but there you go such is life!

I was expecting to be able to do this too, but the only way I could do it was with the razor method outlined above.

Ive now got the trial version of After effects. I cant seem to work out how to do it tho. Im assuming its something to do with time remapping but i could be wrong. Ive tried that tutorial link but it doesnt work. Any pointers or other sites that might help would be appreciated.

It does involve Time remapping, and plenty of fiddling with the settings.

Wow Ive finally done it, and I thought it would be easy! That was the trickiest thing ive done for a long time. It does look good when its done. That tutorial was good, mixed with some explanations from the help file. Thanks everyone. If anyone needs help achiving this kind of effect, Ill try and help if your stuck (cant promise Ill be able to though). Just give me a shout!
