Need to record 1 image/second in Jpeg... With Premiere?

Actually, I need to capture a video signal (24h/day) and record only 1 image/second of that signal...

Yes, I know, It s weird but...!!!

Is that possible with Premiere? If not, with which software I can do that ?

I dont get what you mean "1 image/second?" Do you mean you want to capture a single frame?

If what you want is a single frame, which can then be edited as a still image, then you should make it clear, and someone will help you out...

I knew how to do that in Premiere 6.5 (freeze frame), but man, i dont get it in Premiere Pro 2.0, the hold frame in this is something else.

I think you mean stop motion, were you want to capture say 1 second every hour. Some video camera's come with this option. Its best to let the camera do that rather than premiere. Other than that i am not sure what you want to achieve

Actually I need to record a TV Signal 24h/day but I would like to record only 1 JPEG every second (no video).. So the result is one folder with plenty of JPEG (60 JPEG/minutes, 3600/hour etc)...

Does that make sens 4 u?

If you record footage and play back in Premiere at 1/25th of a second speed, i.e. 4% the resultant clip will be one image for every second.

i know of no way of actually recording only one frame per second though. That would be the realm of the camera or capture utility.

I would look into security camera technologies for that as one I can imagine one frame per second enough to help identify 'perps' or is this what you want it for?

Creating individual jpegs at the capture stage (ie on the fly) sounds tricky to me. I know of no software that does this with a video signal (but then, I've never searched for it).

If it were me, I'd capture a time lapsed DV AVI on the fly (ie video camera tethered direct to PC) using WinDV (http://windv.mourek.cz/) set to record every 25th frame only.

Once I'd got the DV AVI file I'd worry about the JPEGS afterwards. There are plenty of utilities that can convert AVI files to individual bitmaps/jpegs.
