0 Videos nominated Video Of the Month(s): 0 | | Exporting an Animation in After Effects 7
Ok, so i have created this animation using a tutorial i found at www.videocopilot.net (this is the tutorial - http://www.videocopilot.net/fx.html) but the thing is i want to export my finished animation as an avi file instead of a quicktime file but when i try to use the 'Cinepak' option of the exportation settings in AE the final video has a major colour and quality loss. Then, when i try to use 'DV Pal' or ''DV NTSC' the quality is perfect but the whole thing has a weird shaking as it plays. I have tried all the different options, such as higher and lower colours and more frame rates etc but they dont help, any ideas?

It could be an interlacing problem try output as progressive scan/de-interlace.
Why does this file need to be avi?

AE will output wmv as well. Premiere shouldn't have any problem with QT files but sometimes the audio needs conforming. If you have an animation then there is probably no audio to worry about.

How exactly are you rendering the video? - can you give a step by step run through of what you are doing?

What is the frame rate of your composition?
And did you render it out in the same frame rate as your composition?
When you render it out in a different frame rate than your composition, After Effects must drop frames or add frames and that will sometimes gives the effect you discribe.
