Hi There,
I'm a newbie here, so I apologies if this is an old question. I've recently started playing with Premier v6.0 (soon to upgrade) in the last couple of weeks - fantastic programme, can't praise it enough, but unfortunately, when I come to Export my finished project to PAL avi (sadly v6.0 doesnt support MPEG) there is a serious problem with quality.
Basically, all vertical lines, especially if they are white, say goal posts or building edges, have a horrible broken up, "choppy" appearance. This is particularly noticeable when the camera is panned or there is any motion. When still, its not really visible.
The sound quality is perfect.
I am running an XP PC with 1.99GHZ and 896MB of ram. My camera is a Sony TRV33E.
Can anyone please help?!

If you are seeing this problem by viewing on your PC monitor then this sound like the standard interlacing issue which has been discussed many many times before.
Look back at previous threads worrying about quality but if your ultimate end is a DVD to play on your TV then don't worry as the problem goes away on a TV screen, which works differently to a PC monitor.

Thanks for the info - sorry about the dupe, not sure what happened there.
I did look back at the old interlace issues, but what sets this apart is that the problem continues on the DVD via the TV! Is there something I am doing wrong?

hmm, you'd best let us know what s/w and settings you used for each stage of your DVD production. i.e Premiere export settings, which s/w you used for DVD production and what settings you used.
I'm not an expert but others here are and I can compare to what I do, from start to finish from my TRV33E.

It could possibly be a framerate issue. Make sure the framerate of your original video is the same as the output.
