How to stop auto Play List Updating in Premiere 6?

Hey guys I was wondering how to stop premiere from Auto Play List updating when ever I copy and paste a clip which is already in the timeline?
Because when it does, it takes a 'moment' and yeh we all know time is valuable

Can't I just Render for the preview when I'm finished with my copy and pasting?
