Actually Nikosony, the razor tool keyboard shortcut is just the ‘C’ key. (Pressing Ctrl K doesn’t seem to do anything in Pro 2 – maybe you’re thinking of another app?)
I’ve been glued to my Production Studio training vid for ages, and wasn’t keen on the using the keyboard. But they definitely do speed things up. I particularly like the L forward, K stop, and J backplay controls.

Same for me,......I have a Logickeyboard and that has a razor symbol on the "C" key, then you press "V" key to return to selection tool, the arrow symbol is on the "V" key, has worked for me since Premiere 6, I always think of C for cut.
Just tried CTRL+K and doesn't do anything on mine

Interesting. I stick to the ‘Total Training’ video, which specifies the C key.
My Ctrl key has a just passed its medical – a clean bill of health! I might check on those editing keyboard stickers to see what they specify. As stated above, this has been the keyboard shortcut since Premiere 6.
^^stange that ctrl K works for some and not others..... the C key is used for a cut that cuts just the clip and the audio assicited with it.. ctrl K cuts everything in the timeline where the marker is positioned...
Cuts everything on the timeline? Can't quite see what you're getting at. What else, apart from the video and audio is there to cut? The above seems to apply whether using markers or not.
^^^ every thing in the timeline - ie. all the layers -(video1, video2 etc)
Right, I see where the confusion arose. Ctrl + K only performs a cut at the CTI – but it doesn’t select the razor tool, which was indicated earlier in the post. It doesn’t actually select anything.
Must admit, when trying it, I didn’t notice the clip being sliced because I was looking at the toolbar icons.
I didn't realise I'd basically started a new thread here on whether CTRL + K works or not. It cuts both the video and audio tracks for me and that's all I want unless one or either of them is locked and therefore will only cut the unlocked track. If you click on Sequence-> you will see Razor at Current Time Indicator -> Ctrl + K.
It’s my bad habit of straying off the beaten track again. Apologies to all, if needed.
