Default Clips Merge on the Timeline

I have a relly annoying problem. I've been using Adobe Premiere for almost a year now in making minor films with my friends and there have been almost no problems whatsoever, until now.
Suddenly, some clips strangely become sort of glitchy, they seem to blend with other clips that are on the timeline. The funny thing about it is that it's not always the same clips that are affected, sometimes it's one group of clips, sometimes it's another.
I've tried exporting the entire movie, thinking it was some kind of displaying problem withing Premiere itself, but the results were just like what i saw befoe exporting.

I have tried a lot of things to get it to work again, but to no success, now I'm desperate, I even formatted my harddrive the other day and reinstalled everything, thinking things would go back to normal, but, the problem remains.

So please, if anyone has heard of this before or thinks he/she knows what it is, please reply.

Thanks
