Default Help with exporting please

I have a video that is 3 minutes and 22 seconds. I want to put it on the internet, most likely on youtube so that I may embed the file on my own site. Yourube has a limit of how big the file can be, 100mb. I exported the video from premiere, once as an mpeg and once as a windows media file and they both looked fine on my computer, but once put on youtube, they look like crap. What am I doing wrong? I have uploaded several videos to youtube in the past and they looked fine.

If someone could help me and be specific about what settings I should have everythign set to when exporting that would be great. Thanks!

The number of different combinations of 'good' or 'reasonable' settings is enormous. Respectfully, it would likely be far easier for you to tell us what settings you actually used and we can then offer advice on how you might make things better.

In truth, I tend to use the default sets available most of the time.

Does YouTube specify what file format(s) it wants video clips to be in?
