Default Premiere export problem Urgent

Hi Everyone,

I'm Dave, a total newbie, but I've done a bit of cutting using Final Cut Pro (I'm a writer/Director rather than an editor). Anyway, I recently took on a job, thinking I could do it all (yeah, right) and have now run into a problem.

The Deadline is tomorrow (Thursday morning), so need help urgently.

I've shot and cut a 20 minute film, rendered it in Premiere okay but can't export it. Here's the problem. I've had to cut it on the laptop, but the laptop has no DVD burner. I have an portable external HD and a PC with a DVD burner in it. Somehow I need to get the film off the laptop and onto PC, in a format it will recognise, so I can burn DVD copies. Any know how to do this?

The external hard drive doesn't seem to like the Premiere files.

Can anyone help?
Cheers
Dave

The logical thing seems to be to export to DV Tape from the timeline, then capture this footage onto the PC and convert to DVD. An easier way would be to connect the laptop to the PC using the same firewire cable, then network and move the file accross (i.e export as a DV AVI).

Thank you Marc. Two very good suggestion, but unfortunately, there's no camrera or firewire cable in the house. I'll have to hassle friends first thing in the morning.

Thanks again for the reply
Dave
