Default PREMIERE PRO help - crop area out?

I recently rented a sony 3ccd mini dv and filmed a wedding video. It wasnt noticible in the LCD viewer, but the left side of the shroud was captured only when the zoom was wide. It was on the left side and part of the bottom. The width is only of a pencil near the edge. Can I crop the video to a smaller size? or zoom in? delete the edge?

THANK YOU

Im pretty new to Premier Pro myself but I applied the crop effect to a clip of mine and was able to cut out items from the edges and then you can zoom in to keep the clip the correct size. Its all in the crop effect parameters.

Hope this helps.

Yeah go ahead and use the crop tool, if you are new to it then make sure the 'maintain aspect ratio' is checked, if you can see it, if not then make sure you apply the same crop numbers to all sides.
Good luck
