Hi, guys just purchased a high spec PC for video editing as a hobby. I have a gopro 10 and shoot 4k at 30fps. I tried today first time, editing on Adobe premiere, literally added the raw files, added a soundtrack no traditions, just a test, set the export file to h264 , 29. fps and the output seems inadequate, grainy. I even set rendering to Cpu. any suggestions on what msybe the issue, I want the output match the raw file quality. thanks in advance.

Hey Tim! I realize that Inches are not relevant to JPG Images; Pixel Size and PPI are. But, in my dated copy of Power Point, I have to work with Inches. After some research, I settled on a Slide Page Size of 20" by 11-1/4." At 96 PPI (which is the Power Point default), the resulting JPG Image is 1920 px by 1080 px w/ an Aspect Ratio of 16:9. What do you think? Doctor T

Size in inches is only relevant for printed material. On a computer screen it's all about ppi and 96 is about right. You now have to decide on the largest screen resolution you are likely to have it displayed on (eg 4K, 1920x1080) and design it for that. Having said that 1920x1080 wont look dreadful on a 4K screen.

What you're looking for is something with AI enhancing (like the Topaz Labs product Video Enhance, which you may be referring to above). Basic video editors cannot introduce detail that isn't there. Until very recently doing what you're trying to do would be impossible. Now with AI, some software tries to does exactly that. How successful it is depends very much on the footage you start with, the AI driven processing involved and your own interpretation of "successful". Remembre, these will...

Hi! I use Power Point Slides that are saved as .JPG files and, then, imported to Camtasia to create YouTube videos. Right now, the Slides are 10 inches by 5-5/8 inches and are saved at 96 PPI. What Size (in inches) and what Resolution (in PPI) should I be using? Thanks!

I'd just go for cropping. It's possible to do it more sophisticated with e.g. content aware fill in After Effects but the time it takes wouldn't weigh up to the results.

Hello all! I'm just back from a beautifull trip out of South America. And I took my SJCam M20 (verry small screen) with me to record some footages of the beautifull places I wanted to visit. Unfortunatelly... I now see that after some time somehow the "timestamp" option got activated on the camera. And it's showing me a timestamp on 3 of the 9 SD-Cards (so a lot). It wasn't verry noticeable on the small screen of the camera itself. But it's verry clear (and annoying) watching the...

My only complaint is it doesn't have a USB or Firewire port, so you'll have to process tapes to PC via another MiniDV camcorder (I use my Panasonic NV-GS400, and Windows Movie Maker, still working under Windows 10 and 11). Pros: massive viewfinder, no need for LCD screen; total manual control; every button and feature conceivable; lightweight; metal body. Cons: no USB/Firewire...

Mike I strongly recommend doing a quick test recording with both audio and visual indications. Neither tell the whole story on their own. I know whenever I try to short cut this I regret it. Record a bit and play back though headphones as well as watching the level indicators. A couple more minutes at the beginning of the session may just save you from having to re-record the whole lot. Also, if possible, (and I can see the R6 has a headphone jack) monitor the audio with headphones while...

An excellent choice. Experiment with different mic placements and make sure you check the recording levels before going for a take. Err on the side of caution - recording too quitely can result in increased background noise, but at least this can be addressed. Recording too loud results in clipping which (like overblown highlights in video) cannot be fixed in post.

Thanks for your feedback Tim. I have since bought a Rode videomic to plug-in. I can move the mic closer on the extension cable. We are a zero budget team! I have neither the skills or the time to do a video representation of the note or beat. We don’t want the student to look at the screen whilst playing. They must read the notes from the book. It’s the only way they will progress with note reading. I do appreciate that everyone’s learning style is different and some students may benefit...

Only in the context of what you've written above (as a turorial itself it woudn't work at all) I wouldn't sweat the videoi quality too much. The sound is pretty poor though. Forget tidying up the in camera mic. Get a mic close to the piano. Even something like a Zoom H1 will improvie on this. Syncing is really not difficult. Make a sharp nose (clap) which will create a spike in the wafeform of both the video's audio track and that of the avudio only recording - easy to line up. Having said...
