Video bounce. If you look at it closely this video is bouncing slightly. First clip is shot on a Manfrotto Tripod with the Stabilisation off. I figured this tripod was the problem. But the second clip is mounted on a more solid Table top style tripod also with the stabilisation off. But it still has that slight bounce. Camera is a Panasonic HC-V180 with nothing else attached. Audio is recorded separately on it's own stand. Any guesses as to what is causing the bounce? It looks like the...

I don't think you lose anything from not having effects. Maybe it gains a little by not distracting from the subject. I agree with the suggestion to do a sampler. Bookers don't want to spend time going through whole songs, they just need to check out a few seconds of each to get a taste and be sure you're competent.

GoPro Studio software is no longer supported, but you can still download it. It can remove the fisheye effect from at least some GoPro files. It will crop a bit from the edges, so you need to frame the shot a little wide in anticipation.

Creative use of a single very wide angle viewpoint with the crops. I'd crop into e.g. the singer a little sooner, for example around 59 seconds he starts to sing and you crop in a second later. Feels a bit weird to me. Don't really mind the effects but not too keen on the old film look. Would in that case rather prefer a decent black and white image instead. In terms of replacements there's a few options to consider. I am going to assume that you still want to go with a single static...

What I like about the straight video is that it gives a true representation to a promoter of what he will be getting. If I was in his position I might think you're trying to make a live performance look livlier by adding the effects. Not necessarily a bad thing (because it shows you are putting effort into your promotional material), What i would be inclined to do is to show about 30 seconds of several songs, maybe with a complete performance of one song at the end, for if the propoter is...

Tim, Once again, huge thanks for the great feedback. So appreciated. Yes, just one camera at this show with a single shot. It's all the footage I have unfortunately. I do have 2 x Zoom Q2n's which I use for most gigs. I originally bought a Q2n because of the mics and wide lens which enabled me to record the band. Thought I'd lost it so bought another one then found the original, hence 2. I'm not happy with the Zoom now and have been looking for a replacement but can't decide what to get. I...

From a promotional perspective, having some kind of live performance video is practically required. You've ticked that box. Given that, I don't think the effects matter too much either way. They didn't do all that much for me, but I don't really mind them.

Hmmm. Can't say I'm a big fan of the zooms or the over-brightened bit, and whilst I didn't mind the old film look, I can't say it added anything. I did quite like the white squiggles though! I wonder if you're limited to one camera capturing a performance from one angle, whether it's better just to leave it as a straight record of the event, Or possibly mix in some totally different footage? As it stands it just looks like someone trying to create something from a single shot (which I guess...

I'm assuming this will come off blunt but since you asked: I didn't like this. I think it's just footage of someone playing a game which might be mildly interesting in other people that are familiar with that game but not really to a broader audience. When I would look at it from the perspective of someone who plays the game I don't feel this brings anything spectacular, interesting or worthwhile I wouldn't have seen a million times over either in similar videos or by, you know, actually...

I get the feeling that tutorial you're working with is a bit backwards. The way to do it properly as far as I know is to just select the "Audio MP3" profile. From the official VLC help pages: What the author of that tutorial is doing is using the profile to export to h264 and then adjusting the settings so it only contains audio instead of the more usual "audio + video" and then saving it into an MP3 extension. That's also why I suspect they select WAV. All the other options will ...

A reasonable question. However there is no option to encapsulate as an MP3 and you have to choose something! From what I can ascertain Encapsulation is simply the act of putting the video and audio sources into one container. But here the container is an MP3. Except apparently MP3 is not really a container. I'm all in favour of trying to understand things, but there is a limit and I long ago reached the point with codec/containers etc where so long as I gind something that works, and words...

For this level of work I feel £250 sounds fair or even cheap. If you'd work on the camera movement e.g. by always using a tripod or gimbal and added a bit of contrast and pop to the colourgrading, you could easily upgrade it to £400 excluding VAT (I'm assuming 250 is also ex VAT) I do hope this is just £250 for a day of shooting and that the total edit comes to around £600-£700 otherwise I'd say you're undercutting the market. No matter how new you are, don't under cut the market. Sure...

Great advice from Grapes (as usual) with which I agree. Mirrorless cameras are pretty much taking over from DSLRs - especially for video - for cameras with changeable lenses, but that really is something for the future (you're not looking at just the cost of the camera, but lenses as well and once you buy into a certain manufacturer's eco system, it can be costly to change as you'd likely have to cahnage all the lenses as well etc etc.) A 12 year old won't have any problems working in...

Ah yes. We had the "Home taping is killing music" campaign led by the Musicians' Union back in the 1970's. Unscrupulous bootlegging for a profit had been around since the late 1960s at least.

Impossible but it is possible for some companies to track down these cut up copies and then you could have a lawyer send a cease and desist letter. Might even be possible to do that through the company that finds the fakes. YouTube already does that with music. Not sure if it will start doing it with the works from original content creators as well. In the end if audio is played it can be recorded, either directly or just indirectly with a microphone next to the speaker. Audio bootlegging...

Hi, guys, I probably have a pretty strange question but anyway. Can someone say pls if its possible to make audio track "glued" to video file? By "glued" I mean that nobody could cut audio track out of video with some software? I make video content but somebody steals my videos, cut audio track with my voice out and use my voice. Is it possible somehow to protect my video n audio? I dk, mby glue audio track in video or make smt that after they cut my track out, the track itself would be...

his film introduces you to Uppsala, a province in central Sweden. Uppsala is also the old capital of Sweden. Important cities and attractions in the film are: Uppsala, Enköping, Bålsta, Östhammar, Tierp, Uppsala University (the oldest university in Northern Europe), Uppsala domkyrka (the largest and oldest church in Northern Europe), Uppsala Castle, Dragon Gate Inn, etc. Welcome everyone to enter the movie to enjoy!

I don't know what happened to my original response. I can only guess I failed to post it. The look is much more 1980/1990s than 1970s but it's OK. I love the grumbing bass riff and the sound is very "underground". Possibly more of a 1960s vibe? Please send links to more of your music!

hello to everybody! Some days before i went to this amazing place I present to you a hotel that is probably the best in the area there. Those of you who have ever considered going, it is definitely recommended by me. The hotel is called King Maron and is located in the area south of Maronia in Platanitis. Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-IwAgXBIDQ

I don't think I have seen any 70s horror films but this clip sure has a vintage vibe to it. I don't really see anything I don't like or would suggest to do different either. Nice music as well :)

Perhaps it is because I am also an 'old git', but in my view, the overuse of drone footage depersonalises everything. After all, once the majesty of one landscape has been captured from the air, there is little more to appreciate in the rest of the video. I liked the 'newsy' intro, though, and I would have liked to have seen the Covid 19 theme drawn to a conclusion at the end, to complete the video.

The exact same thing has been happening to me. I think something might be going on right now with IG/FB, they're updating or something and their vids are acting wacky. This worked for me In a chrome browser on a laptop/desktop, log into your instagram account. From there upload your video to IGTV. After almost an entire day of troubleshooting, that's what finally worked for me. No sync issues in any browser after I uploaded this way! Hope this helps!

Can I reply to "do camcorders have a place in 2021". The answer is Yes, but I keep hearing Sony/Panasonic etc say the people have abandoned the traditional camcorders. In fact it is the opposite, the big 3 Manufacturers have abandoned the Consumers. Back in the days of 1080p camcorders many changed models and found they'd gone from a 25/30fps to a 50/60fps and noticed the more silky smooth playback on PC & TV. Come up to date with 4K camcorders and the big 3 have clearly decided we must...

Hello! I don't usually post in forums but lately i have been getting more into filming and video editing. I edited a video for one of my music projects earlier this year and I would really like to hear what you think about it. When making the video the idea was to go for a 70s horror movie vibe, so the choice of camera and also much of the editing was done with this in mind. The majority of the work was to simply find the best parts from a ton of raw material. I also added simple mirror...
