OK so I have been dealing with this issue for hours: trying to figure out how to export a simple visual (that is essentially a basic photographic slide-show with a some text and a couple basic effects) with no pixelation.... First issue is I had is adding a simple crossfade transition (and yes I tried a manual opacity automation as well as the stock crossfade effect) between a color matte and a photo without any boxy pixelation during the crossfade effect. I have never even had this problem at...

I've been asked to put together a 40 minute presentation, plus 20 mins Q&A overview of Editing in Resolve.(I have already warned them that whilst I'm reaqsonably proficient in Vegas, I'm still very much finding my way with Resolve) It will be a presentation over Zoom. The audience are already filmakers, experienced to varying degrees in other NLEs Although it may touch on colour/fusion/Fairlight, it is primarily to be about editing. It is an overview -...

There are videos out there on the use of the zoom H1n as an audio interface, so see if you can find a USB to 3.5mm lead on ebay or amazon and bypass using the ear phone output (it is the earphone out that produces the hiss). Syncing audio is very easy. The Zoom H1N allows you to set a Mark ( audio tone at the start of recording , but I just speak the location and time at the start, this is then on both camera and zoom audio tracks, I then splice the video where the speak ends, and do the...

Thanks for the reply. I have a lumix tz70 for making my first four guitars video but the sound is not very good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lDdjcC4wio That´s why I am thinking about buying tz300+Zoom H1n. I´ve thought this option because I don´t like the idea of sync audio with video four times everytime I make a video with 4 guitars playing together; on the other hand I´ve never tried sync audio with video, so, I don´t know if it´s very tedious. I didn't, it still has that awful hiss via the jack. I think a Rode video Pro mic would be better, though I've not tried it. I now use the Zoom H1N and sync the audio from that on the Timeline when editing. If your going for an FZ300 a few things to point out, the Zoom is very fast, and I cannot see a way to slow it down. but there are some serious faults to know about too with the zoom lever and selector dial. I'll add link to a fix for them. I get around them by not needing them, I use...

I am just starting out with Olive. I have posted quite a few videos on you tube but they have been unedited, I have just purchased a elgato video capture card because I have a load of old videos up my loft I want to digitise. I have successfully saved a few. When I open these videos in Olive and play them in the sequence viewer the opening still is hiding the video.

As one or two people are still dropping in here, I thought I'd post a sequel to 2020's "Cluedunnit", which we made last year. Like the original ( see this thread ) it was conceived, filmed, edited and uploaded in 33 hours. We received the theme (in this case "In a pickle") at 9.00am on Saturday and had to have the film completed and uploaded by 6.00pm the following day. I totally get that - I feel the same about Resolve/Vegas, but I wonder how much of this is down to familiarity. As I've said above, I'm not at all experienced with PP, but I sat in on an editing session with a friend who is very adept with it. Looking over his shoulder, my thought was he didn't seem to have a very high degree of control (ie exactly what you thought about Resolve) Yet the results were fine. Again I totally understand you. I need to feel inspired, I still love analysing and discussing films though. Fortunately, I'm still asked to judge fairly frequently ... but anyone can do that. There are four main divisions among developers - those who specialize in one technology, those who specialize in another, and those who don't. The former tend to hire self-employed developers, while the latter prefer to work with large corporations.
