Reaper is free to try, and the fully functional demo continues to work after the trial period, but with a 15 second nag screen. It's a DAW (digital audio workstation) with some basic video editing features. Free software that does more video editing includes Shotcut and DaVinci Resolve.

Good morning to everyone! A few days ago I had the good fortune to make a 2 day trip with a rare and unique VW model, the 1984 Volkswagen Transporter t3 or t25 camper van. The car is very well maintained, freshly painted, general service has been done, as some things have been added here and there. I do not know details since he is one of my close friends from Thessaloniki and the walk was to Develiki, Halkidiki Greece. Most of the scenes are handheld and some of them with weebill s...

For this level of work I feel 250 sounds fair or even cheap. If you'd work on the camera movement e.g. by always using a tripod or gimbal and added a bit of contrast and pop to the colourgrading, you could easily upgrade it to 400 excluding VAT (I'm assuming 250 is also ex VAT) I do hope this is just 250 for a day of shooting and that the total edit comes to around 600-700 otherwise I'd say you're undercutting the market. No matter how new you are, don't under cut the market. Sure...

Great advice from Grapes (as usual) with which I agree. Mirrorless cameras are pretty much taking over from DSLRs - especially for video - for cameras with changeable lenses, but that really is something for the future (you're not looking at just the cost of the camera, but lenses as well and once you buy into a certain manufacturer's eco system, it can be costly to change as you'd likely have to cahnage all the lenses as well etc etc.) A 12 year old won't have any problems working in...

What video editing software do you have? Are other/older videos from the same camera looking better in the same software on the same hardware as you notice this problem on?

That's a great plan. Future proof is unfortunately not something that's easily done these days, especially not on a budget but nothing is impossible and I think there's a few options especially when you are willing to go second hand. Not sure if the Render Progress Dialog problem has to do with your GPU, I have an Nvidia. You could try a free SeMW extension as a workaround. Depends how many settings you've changed and whether you can live with losing them, but have you tried a reset (Ctrl+Shift + Roght-click on Vegas shortcut, "Open" - or something like that)? I still find Vegas the most natural/quickest for editing, but I've found it increasingly unstable and love the integration Resolve has with Fusion (and prefer the colour correction in Resolve)

Just about any vdeo software will have this capability. Hitfilm Express is but one free version that will do it. However, beware that the zooming in will massively drop quality and this will be all the more apparent with graphics/text such as a PP presentation. (What was one pixel on the screen will be 4 pixels if you zoom in to 200%)

Impossible but it is possible for some companies to track down these cut up copies and then you could have a lawyer send a cease and desist letter. Might even be possible to do that through the company that finds the fakes. YouTube already does that with music. Not sure if it will start doing it with the works from original content creators as well. In the end if audio is played it can be recorded, either directly or just indirectly with a microphone next to the speaker. Audio bootlegging...

Perhaps it is because I am also an 'old git', but in my view, the overuse of drone footage depersonalises everything. After all, once the majesty of one landscape has been captured from the air, there is little more to appreciate in the rest of the video. I liked the 'newsy' intro, though, and I would have liked to have seen the Covid 19 theme drawn to a conclusion at the end, to complete the video.

In fact it is the opposite, the big 3 Manufacturers have abandoned the Consumers. Back in the days of 1080p camcorders many changed models and found they'd gone from a 25/30fps to a 50/60fps and noticed the more silky smooth playback on PC & TV. Come up to date with 4K camcorders and the big 3 have clearly decided we must...

You probably benefit more from a system upgrade if you're still running a GT 710. Current drones usually output files in formats that are better handled by new hardware. I myself have similar issues and so far all my research has lead me to believe I would need a current gen CPU and GPU with at least 32gb ram and ideally some M.2 SSD cards to be able to handle the modern footage standards for the coming three to five years or so. Alternatively you can film in lower resolution. E.g. stick to...

For me there where two systems that where viable. An all in one system based around a DSLR and one around a GoPro. If it's a one off you may want to look at hiring. My research was back in 2017 or so and back then for me CamDo was the best budget option: https://cam-do.com/pages/construction-time-lapse-packs...

There probably is but you need something more specific than you have stated. In the example you have given there is only the beginning and about one 15 sec period in the middle where there is no motion. So you'd need somehing that can detect motion within a specific part of the image. But that most likely won't be enough as you'd want to see several frames before and several frames after that. Quite honestly, you'll probably spend as long setting up the paraneters as you would going through...

One good life hack for me is if you go the the UK, bring your own orange juice and maple syrup - proper coffee would probably be a good idea too

Hi all, Looking for some recommendations. I've got a few hours of footage of me and some friends hitting some jumps. I'd like to save myself the time of going through the footage by hand and editing out the long gaps in between the action. Is there any software that can detect motion in the video(i.e. someone going through the frame) and then save just that bit of video? Thanks in advance for any help!

So as you ask for a windows video editor or a mac video editor, idk, here is my advice. I'm using "Movavi Video Editor Plus 2021" on my Mac, but it also works on windows. It has a lot of cool tools and it is very easy in use. I've been using this app for so long, since i've bought my first computer (Acer Aspire One D150). It is wonderful and I strongly recommend it to you!

Thanks for teh info vkmast. that had a certain amount of inevitabilty about it when Magix bough Vegas from Sony as theer isn't really the room for two "budget" NLEs in their catalogue. i still find their array of music production software quite bewildering.

MAGIX has discontinued the VEGAS Movie Studio product line. Version 17 is the current and final version of the product. It has been replaced by a product called Movie Studio 18 (three versions), which is developed by a different team in Germany and does not have much to do with the U.S. Madison version (VEGAS Movie Studio). Currently it is still marketed at vegascreativesoftware.com, but it's not considered a VEGAS product.

You have to use HitFilm Express, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe premier, etc. these are best software for video editing. If you want to make animated videos then you can use Blender and Animaker. My friend use Blender and Animaker for animated videos.
