Being a wedding videographer is both complicated but exciting. Wedding day is one of the most important in peoples lives, and when it comes to filming everything - it has to be perfect. When I was planning my wedding, choosing a videographer was a long and complicated process because I wanted to find a real professional. One day I came across this site https://www.splento.com/gb/greater-london/videographer-london, where I was lucky to find a videographer who was really professional and easy to...

A long while back, you may remember I was trying to start a gaming channel on YT. I was asking you all about text overlays and such and I've been given some great advice that I still use on many things (some not video-related, even). I ended up abandoning that for a really long time, but recently decided to get back into it when I started playing RDO with some friends and we kept getting funny crap to happen to us (mostly fails). So I decided to repurpose one of my many channels I somehow ended...

I imagine just about any would do. If you have Windows 10, there's an inbuilt feature somewhere. I forget the name of it, but I've used it for full editing before. I would recommend using something else entirely for full editing because it was absolutely not designed for it, but I do believe it had trimming capabilities.

Google translate will translate audio 'as you speak' but it stops after a one second pause (every time she takes a breath) which is a frustration. All the other 25 apps use the same Google engine. I thought it would be an easy find but looks like I'll have to try uploading all her clips to you tube and let that transcribe them all.

Camcorder ergonomics have always baffled me. Even making the strap vertical (rather than horizontal) would improve it no end. You're right, of course, phone ergonomics are however even worse, particularly with a folio case. And sometimes you just want to point and shoot without unlocking, finding the app, changing it from the last setting... and missing the silly thing your kid just did. Nothing beats the pointy shootyness of a camcorder. I finally gave up using DSLR's for video a few years...

Marc asks if camcorders have a place in 2021. I say absolutely they do, though it may be rather more niche than it used to. Phones capture superb images - especially if you want just a massive depth of field (and camcorders typcally do not have a shollow depth of field anyway - if you want that go mirrorless/DSLR). They are suitable for loads of stuff. But .... ergonomically I find them horrible. I have mine in a case with a folding lid and this makes it very difficult to hold (but makes...

I can edit 1080p AVCHD footage on a late 2013 MacBook pro with an onboard graphic card, intel i7 and 8GB ram. As Tim says, space (and just as importantly the speed of harddrive) is critical. For the last 5+ years I've edited all my footage using external SSDs. In summary, a second hand laptop with an i7, 8GB ram and SSDs will do for you.

I've owned plenty of different camcorders over the years. They've all served me well but do they still have a place in 2021? It really depends on what you want / need, but for most users a phone will do everything a separate camcorder will do. In my experience the only benefit real benefit is optical zoom. So if you have no need of zoom (and you have a reasonably new phone), I'd buy a few gadgets for the phone. As Tim says, second hand can be an excellent choice. For example the Canon XC10...

I don't know Filmora but that spec sounds seriously underpowered. The SSD at 128 is big enough for operating system and software. Yes there's room for some footage but very little. It's not possible to say how much space 1080Pfootage takes without knowing the codec you uses. Typically lower end cameras shoot with very highly compressed footage, which means much more footage per GB. Unfortunately this has to be decompressed by the computer so it requires far more power. One common solution...

Try to capture some big close ups: People - eg mouths at microphones, fingers on guitars/keyboards, sticks on kit and feet on pedals: Things - guitar headstocks, drum cases, generally any "gear" you have around and "things" relating to the environment eg here you migt use ropes, capstans, ships wheel etc. Not only will these add even...

Film and tape are fundamentally different technologies. Film is chemistry while tape is electronic/magnetic (based on different chemistry). Analog video produces discrete horizontal lines across the screen. The color imperfections are a result of compromises in the electronic signal. Film is based on different light sensitive compounds on a film substrate. If you zoom way in you'll see little particles of somewhat varying shapes and sizes, in three discrete colors, embedded in the film. The...

That's a film look. It might actually have been shot on film, like Super 8. VHS will never get you that collection of effects. Also, it's shot on an extremely hazy day. You might be able to mimic some of the film effects with blur and color adjustment. To get the effect of a hazy day you'll have to shoot on a hazy day.

A nice little story with a good mix of first and third person shots. I thought it could have been a bit tighter though, knowing when to cut away is really important. To keep it all moving along without feeling like it's dragging is really important. My biggest gripe, and it may be just me, is the way you have implemented the cut to the picture taken with the camera.
