Is your camcorder still under warranty? If it is, and you purchased it from a shop then take it back to the shop and get them to repair it. Even it is isn't under warranty anymore and you still have the receipt take it back to the shop and again get them to either fix it in the shop (highly unlikely but worth a try) or get them to send it away to a Sony Service Centre, get a quote for the repair and then decide if it would be better to get it fixed or buy a new camcorder, whichever is cheapest.
