Never had a problem with the rode, i've been shooting my short film with it, it has picked up very clear audio and i have no concerns over it's ability.

re the ATR25, I've only used it once. I can't really comment but what I used it for audio again was clear. It's actually going on ebay soon so if your interested let me know.
