Replacing requires disassembly of the camcorder (farily extensive). Talk about opening a can of worms. Not recommended. Have a professional shop do the the job (cost you $150 or more I'll bet). Or just buy a used camcorder to playback on your computer. That might even be best. On eBay, their selling some as low as $100. So why not just do that instead -- I did. I love my DCR-TRV730, but have to use a cheapy DCR-TRV103 to transfer on to computer since the 730s i-Link is blown.
