A few guidelines for showreels:

Short: Take your first edit, cut it shorter, then cut it shorter again. Aim for 2 mins.

Sweet: Only include the best of your best.

Sharp: Keep it snappy and intersting to watch.

Suprising: Well you want to be remembered dont you?

Salient: Is it suitable for the viewer? No point sending something techno wobbly to the history channel.

I hasten to point out my s reel is by no means perfect - I just like it the way it is.
