Good advice yogestee, just want to add, if you are recording someone either singing or playing an instrument, make sure you record at least one minute continiously of them so you have a complete soundtrack with no audio jump cuts. That way you can do an insert edit sequence, a montage perhaps, by laying down the audio first on the timeline and then putting the pictures on top of it. You could also 'cut to the beat' using this technique.
