The audio files are still open in Vegas, but I thought that that was the norm. You can select "open in audio editor" (which changes to "open in Sound Forge" when it is the sony product) and when you close the editor and return to vegas the changes are shown in the audio time line.
There is an outside change that one of the editors appeared to have died but remained hitched on to the file in the background but that seems unlikely since it was telling me that it did not like file TYPE not that it could not save to the same file.
Thanks for the envelope advice.
The envelope tool is not there in standard edit mode, but there is an icon at the top of the screen called envelop edit tool, which when clicked gives the right click menu.
There are only volume and pan envelopes it seems.
Is there a notch or lowpass filter envelope in vegas? Or is it possible to remove noise using a sample of the noise? That would solve my audio problems and be a good reason for purchasing the full product.
Thanks again.
