Hi all,
I'm Mac, hailing from Southern California. 43 years old, married, no kids.
I've dabbled in still photography (on and off) for a number of years, starting with film and moving to digital. I previously owned an 8mm video camera, and have done all the typical sloppy home movies complete with shaky footage and lots of unnecessary/gratuitous zooms. I recently bought an entry-level DV cam (Sony DCR-HC32), and have just started getting my feet wet in the world of non-linear editing (have played briefly with MovieMaker, and am on the verge of buying Vegas Movie Studio +DVD Platinum). No aspirations of a career in videography or production, but would like to improve my skills with both the camera and computer to be able to create reasonably presentable video projects of family/friends, vacations, activities, etc. that won't put people to sleep or create spontaneous illness!
This looks like a great forum - I look forward to participating, learning, and passing on whatever I can offer.
