The burn settings will have changed from 720x576 to 720x480 and the frame rate will have gone up from 25fps to 30fps. All new PAL DVD players should have no problem playing NTSC discs, I don't know what the story is about SECAM (it seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth) just out of curiosity did you notice any black bars at the top and bottom of your TV screen?
