I have been just playing around with video editing lately. My current PC just isnt cutting it. Im just a beginer and do it for fun, not professionally.

My new build (for 3d cad & video editing) consist of...

Pentium D 3.0 or 3.2 GHz

2 Gigs of DDR2 ram

ASUS P5LD2 MoBo

ATI FireGL V3400 Vid Card

I just need some opinions on what and how many hard drives to buy and what data to put on each HD. I would like to get a 80 Gig HD for my OS/Apps drive but the smallest 7200rpm / 16MB cache drive i have seen is 160 Gigs.

Should I consider partioning drives or does that degrade performance?
