I am finally making the foray from Director to editor with Premiere Pro! As I am completely new to this I have some very basic questions. Well- basically what are the first steps in getting footage captured to pc so I can start editing? I shot in 24P mini-dv on a Panasonic dvx100. As far as I can tell, I have all the equipment necessary to proceed- i.e. the footage, the camera, the fire wire cable, the pc, Premiere pro, plenty of drive space etc. The premiere pro manual seems to be a bit vague in getting me started. Can anyone give some guidance as per the exact steps needed to at least capture the footage onto the pc? Thanks for your help!
