I stand corrected. I've just never used it for that and wasn't even aware it could do it.
The best I can suggest is to read some books on both packages and/or hunt aroudn and read lots of tutorials. It is a grey area on when to use Premiere and when AE. They do overlap in functionality. Much more so for the beginner I think. By that I mean it becomes clearer which one to use the more you learn.
