Indeed. Double Dare, Runaround - there's a history of noisy entertainment for kids. And I'm a big kid too - if there's a wall next to a path, I'll always chose the wall to walk. But my "big kid" persona is very different to Mike's(we're very different children).
Would I actively encourage my potential children to watch it? Probably not. But I know for a fact that I would end up letting my kids watch it, and end up watching it myself and secretly enjoying it.
